Simple Forearm Twist Exercises That Can Help Improve Your Golf Skills

When you are out playing golf, it is important for you to understand that it takes more than just striking the ball for you to land the ball where you want it. Golf is a game that goes over and above anything you might already know about the club. It is also a game that involves a lot of body movement, motion and contact. When you think about it, there are so many people who have come to improve their game by taking these simple notes into consideration.

The flick of your wrist is enough to alter the course of the ball, or the trajectory that you would have expected when releasing the stroke in the first place. When it comes to improving your skills, there are simple exercises that will help you learn to twist your forearm accordingly, and in the process also make you become a better player in the long run.

We will look at some simple exercises that you can carry out, which will help you improve your golf skills by learning to twist your wrist accordingly:

  • Barbell curls

  • Dumbbell curls

  • Self-resistance wrist curls

  • The wet towel twist

Barbell curls

When you compare these with the dumbbell curls for the wrists, perhaps you will notice that the barbell curls are not really as versatile. You will also need more room to perform them adequately. However, you can just do as many of them as you possibly can, just as much as the dumbbell curls too.

Dumbbell curls

Get yourself some light dumbbells or any kind of small weight. The good thing about the dumbbell curls is that you are able to do them in as many different positions as possible. In fact, you can also choose to do them an arm at a time, or have both arms working out at the same time.

Self-resistance wrist curls

This is actually a single arm wrist curl. The concept here is to make sure that you deliver the resistance that you require. You will sit down on a chair and have one of your elbows on the leg then curl your fingers into a fist.

The wet towel twist

This is perhaps one of the simplest exercise routines ever. Get a w towel and try to wring as much water as you can out of it. Try it with your hands in a palms up position, then try a palms down position too.
